I was sued. What should I do?

I recommend that you contact an attorney, who you wish to retain, and provide to them a copy of the complaint and the summons that was served on you. The summons will give you a short period of time, usually 20 days, to file an answer or responsive motion. If you don’t timely file that, then the plaintiff can seek to have a default or default judgement entered against you.
